- Dow Footwear Solutions and DESMA jointly demo at Brazil's FIMEC Show
Dow Footwear Solutions successfully attended FIMEC Show in Brazil from April 8th - 11th in collaboration with DESMA, the world leading footwear machinery manufacturer, to run a series of production demonstrations during the show.
FIMEC - the International Fair of Leather, Chemical Products, Components and Accessories, Equipment and Machines for Footwear and Tanneries - is one of the most influential footwear industry trade shows in the Americas.
The show, which attracted 40,000 professional visitors and nearly 1,200 industry players from different countries this year, enabled the Dow Footwear Solutions'team to host productive meetings with a number of current and prospective customers. The event also helped the team to understand more about market needs, and to build Dow's cooperation with DESMA and with brand owner customers.
Visiting customers and prospects responded positively, with particular interest in the good finishing and flexibility of the shoe soles being produced. The cooperation with DESMA also led to contacts with potential new customers in the safety shoe market.
During the collaboration with DESMA, VORALAST™ polyurethane soling system with superior hydrolysis stability and abrasion resistance was directly injected into the uppers of shoes, so that customers could see completed high performing shoes being produced. Dow Footwear Solutions' soling systems were also run on three Sulpol machines during the show.
